As soon as your unique treatment plan has been developed, Dr. Henegar will take dental impressions and your cosmetic veneers will be created out of high-quality porcelain material. When your custom veneers are ready to be inserted, Dr. Henegar will remove a little bit of enamel from the front of your teeth to create space for the porcelain veneers and to improve the bond for a more natural outcome and long-lasting results. When your veneers are secured, Dr. Henegar will make minor adjustments so that they fit comfortably. Getting veneers typically doesn’t require anesthesia so you should be able to resume your daily tasks after your appointment. You may experience sensitivity to hot and cold meals for a few days, but this should fade away. While porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains compared to natural teeth, you still need to avoid staining drinks and foods to keep your veneers bright and maintain a good at-home oral cleaning routine. To avoid chipping your veneers, you shouldn’t chew on hard objects, like your fingernails or ice. Dr. Henegar will monitor the condition of your veneers at your dental exams and cleanings.
