What is a CEREC Single-Visit Restoration?
In the past, restorations required at least two dentist visits since physical impressions were created and shipped to a dental laboratory. Dentist Dr. Asher Henegar is pleased to offer CEREC technology for one-visit restorations. CEREC, which stands for ceramic reconstruction, utilizes computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing equipment to produce your restoration at our Colorado Springs, CO office while you wait. R. Asher Henegar, D.D.S., P.A. utilizes the CEREC system to generate custom bridges, crowns, and more. The CEREC system can also be utilized for cosmetic treatments, like making custom veneers. "A wonderful place to go for a dental work! The office staff is friendly and helpful. Dr Henegar and his assistant were very gentle and caring. They made sure I was comfortable during my visit! I will return!"- P.N. / Google / Sep 28, 2021
"I haven't been to the dentist in over five years. It's a lot easier said then done but when you don't have insurance or have the finances it gets pushed back over the years. I would highly recommend Dr. Henegar. The office was clean and modern. The staff all had smiles and were very friendly upon entering the office. I was greeted with a hand shake by the doctor himself. We took x-rays of my teeth and came up with a plan. Dr. Henegar was very friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. It felt good to go to the dentist and not be questioned as to why I haven't been to a dentist in so long.We came up with a step by step plan for future visits and he even recommended ortho to help straightrn my bottom teeth in the future. I couldn't be happier with the affordablility but also with the friendly staff. It is nice to be known and addressed by your name rather then a patient room number. No judgments here."- E.M. / Google / Sep 15, 2021
"Cannot recommend Dr. Henegar enough! I just recently started coming here, and the environment is so relaxing. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. I had to have several fillings done and Dr. Henegar even touched up an old filling that I had as a courtesy. He and his staff are so friendly and caring and make you feel like more than just a dollar walking in the door. As long as I live in the Springs, I’ll be coming back to him!"- M.W. / Google / Sep 15, 2021
"Very polite and professional. They explained the expenses and options very well for me."- N.M. / Google / Sep 14, 2021
What to Expect From CEREC Same-Day Restorations
Your CEREC procedure will begin by building your personal treatment plan. The process will start with Dr. Henegar taking an electronic scan of your teeth. The scan will allow him to manufacture your restoration effectively and precisely. From there, your restoration will be sent to the CEREC system to be created. The amount of time needed to create your restoration will be based on its size. Once the restoration is created, Dr. Henegar can finish and polish the piece before putting it in position. He may modify the restoration so it's comfortable and blends with your natural teeth. After your CEREC restoration is complete, it's important that you keep up a good at-home dental hygiene regimen. You should also schedule annual dental exams and biannual cleanings at our office in Colorado Springs, CO. At each appointment, Dr. Henegar will check your restoration and perform any needed repairs or alterations that will help keep your teeth healthy. If cared for correctly, ceramic dental restorations can remain in place for many years.
How long do CEREC crowns last?
Usually, CEREC crowns will last our patients anywhere from 10 – 15 years. However, the life span of the crown can be reduced with undesirable behavior, such as biting down or grinding the teeth.
Are CEREC crowns covered by insurance?
Most dental insurance plans do cover CEREC crowns. The exact level of coverage will vary from one provider to another. We encourage our patients to speak with their insurance agency to inquire about costs before scheduling an appointment for CEREC crowns.
Can CEREC crowns be used on my front teeth?
We generally only recommend using CEREC crowns on molars. Patients who have broken or chipped front teeth should consider one of our other services, such as porcelain veneers.
