Why Digital X-Rays?
Digital x-rays are done as part of a dental examination to provide a more thorough view of your mouth. X-rays make it easier for dentist Dr. Asher Henegar to diagnose problems that aren't visible by the naked eye. It also helps our whole team to understand more about your oral health by showing the inside of your mouth, including the teeth, gums, and jaw. There are numerous oral health problems that may be diagnosed based on the digital images our digital x-rays provide, such as cavities, decay, abscesses, cysts, tooth impactions, and bone loss. If these issues are found in the early stages, you can be treated more efficiently and have more treatment options. During your annual exam at R. Asher Henegar, D.D.S., P.A. in Colorado Springs, CO, digital x-rays will help Dr. Henegar diagnose and correct oral health issues.

"A wonderful place to go for a dental work! The office staff is friendly and helpful. Dr Henegar and his assistant were very gentle and caring. They made sure I was comfortable during my visit! I will return!"- P.N. / Google / Sep 28, 2021
"I haven't been to the dentist in over five years. It's a lot easier said then done but when you don't have insurance or have the finances it gets pushed back over the years. I would highly recommend Dr. Henegar. The office was clean and modern. The staff all had smiles and were very friendly upon entering the office. I was greeted with a hand shake by the doctor himself. We took x-rays of my teeth and came up with a plan. Dr. Henegar was very friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. It felt good to go to the dentist and not be questioned as to why I haven't been to a dentist in so long.We came up with a step by step plan for future visits and he even recommended ortho to help straightrn my bottom teeth in the future. I couldn't be happier with the affordablility but also with the friendly staff. It is nice to be known and addressed by your name rather then a patient room number. No judgments here."- E.M. / Google / Sep 15, 2021
"Cannot recommend Dr. Henegar enough! I just recently started coming here, and the environment is so relaxing. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. I had to have several fillings done and Dr. Henegar even touched up an old filling that I had as a courtesy. He and his staff are so friendly and caring and make you feel like more than just a dollar walking in the door. As long as I live in the Springs, I’ll be coming back to him!"- M.W. / Google / Sep 15, 2021
"Very polite and professional. They explained the expenses and options very well for me."- N.M. / Google / Sep 14, 2021
What to Expect From Digital X-Rays
For most patients, x-rays are a part of an annual dental examination. Digital x-rays may also be performed if you are concerned about a specific problem. Though digital x-rays use significantly less radiation compared to film x-rays, R. Asher Henegar, D.D.S., P.A. likes to minimize each patient's exposure. Additionally, female patients who are breastfeeding or pregnant should tell Dr. Henegar at the beginning of their appointment so that extra precautions may be taken. Often performed at the beginning of your dental exam, digital x-rays take around 5 – 10 minutes to do. Most patients will get a set of x-rays to include teeth, gums, and jaw. After they are taken, they are uploaded to be viewed by you and Dr. Henegar during your appointment. He will be able to show you if there are any issues and discuss possible treatments. Your digital x-rays will be saved with your oral health file so Dr. Henegar can watch for changes over time and address any areas of concern.
